The person Usagi Tsukino

Tsukino Usagi, the Moon Rabbit, Odango Atama, Sailor Moon, Princess Serenity, or how else you might choose to call her, is the one person the whole series known as "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" revolves around.

Tsukino Usagi is only 14 years of age when we are introduced to her at the beginning of the manga and anime story. She is your typical teenager; she despises school and homework, loves to eat and play video-games, always gets in a fight with her younger brother Shingo, and tends to get scolded quite a lot by her mother. But something that is to turn her whole life upside down is about to happen; a talking cat named Luna, with a suspicious crescent moon on her forehead, tells Usagi that she is to be the soldier of love and justice, Sailor Moon. Her mission is to defend innocent humans from the evil villains that have settled upon Earth, and find the Princess of the Moon and the holy Silver Crystal (Ginzuishou). While - more or less - trying to fulfill her mission she meets up with fellow Sailor Senshi, and eventually comes to realize that she is in fact the reborn Princess they've been searching for and that she has lived a tragic past life as such.

So Usagi's not only a senshi but also a princess in the bargain. And yet Usagi is not your typical heroine by far: though a powerful senshi herself, she depends heavily on others and is very lost when left alone. She needs and thrives on the company of others and the love and friendship they bring along. She in fact despises fighting, and even finds it in her heart to forgive those that have done the most evil deeds in hope of finding a peaceful solution. She has a very childish side to her character, preferring to read manga and play video-games over studying or doing her homework, and is ready to whine and rant when things are not going her way.

At the very same time, you will never find a more loving and caring person throughout BSSM; she loves the people and the world around her at large, and will defend what she believes to be right without a second thought.
