What's in a name?
Have you ever noticed how popular puns are in that magical girls series we all love? If you pay attention and look closely, you’ll find tons of them. And how would the heroine of the story look if she didn’t have one in her honour?
(usagi) means rabbit, while
(tsuki) means moon, and
(no) means as much as of, on or from, making the literal translations of the name Usagi Tsukino "Bunny of/on/from the Moon". Suddenly the rabbit-overdose in Usagi’s room makes sense, doesn’t it? And the moon reference, well, if you don’t get that, then shame on you! The pun of Usagi's name comes from the phrase "tsuki no usagi", which derives from a Japanese children's story about the rabbit that is said to be visible in the Moon's face (much like the Western man on the Moon).
But then, apart from the literal translation, what else does the name Usagi Tsukino have to offer?
Your first name of Usagi has given you creative ability, imagination along practical lines, and the patience to pay attention to detail for a while. Although you are attracted to technical, mechanical, scientific fields, you lack the patience to follow through with this interest. This name gives a certain amount of practicality to your thinking; but there is also a tendency to scatter your efforts for, although you want system and order and stability in your life, you are too apt to be distracted from the job you are doing and to become involved in spontaneous interests.

Well, it's a bit difficult to see Usagi in that description of her character. As she is destined to become Neo-Queen Serenity, we never find out if she was in fact interested in any of the mentioned fields of interest for a career, so it's a bit hard to say that Kabalarians is 100 % wrong. The scatter-brained chracteristic described fits Usagi nicely though, for she is without a doubt a scatter-brained person that tends to start one thing (e.g homework) only to leave it unfinished and move on to the next within moments (e.g. videogames or manga), making her interests pretty spontaneous as well.
We mustn't forget that Usagi has already experienced and lived through quite a lot in her life, which also brings another major name along, the name of Serenity. Serenity was Usagi's name back in the Silver Millennium when she was still a Princess living on the Moon in the Moon Palace; in the "present" Tokyo she only gets called by that name when she is in her Princess-form. Serenity is also another play upon a well-known story and myth. Serenity, or Selene, was said to be the Goddess of the Moon in Greek mythology, who fell in love with a shepard named Endymion (according to the myth, they had 50 daughters; imagine that, 50 Chibi-Usa's ... O.o ).
Your first name of Serenity has given you a studious nature, and the ability to concentrate on whatever you are doing. You could excel in mathematics or in positions where persistence, independence, and individuality are required. In personal associations, a lack of finesse in verbal expression often creates misunderstandings with others, especially with those close to you, because you find it difficult and embarrassing to express depth of feeling when situations arise requiring diplomacy, understanding, and affection.

Hmm ... I think Kabalarians has managed to describe a Queen perfectly - intelligent, independent and a bit cold and repressed. But do we associate any of these adjectives with Usagi? Hardly. We do have to remember though, that we never learned anything much other than Serenity's story of the past and future - things as her personality and character were hardly focused on in the manga or the anime. The bit we did see of Usagi's past and future self does show us that she was and will become quite a bit different from the Usagi we all know though; a Princess/Queen simply won't get around not being serious and more withheld after all. So, is Kabalarians right or not? I guess it's hard to say ...
