The person Kou Seiya
Lovely, lovely Seiya. We sadly do not get to meet him and his fellow Lights until the very last season of Sailor Moon, which is a sad thing, and not only because of all the wonderful Seiya & Usagi moments we therefore missed out on. No, Seiya, Taiki and Yaten are three very wonderful characters, and finally bring some spice and spark back to the series after a rather lame season (coughcough).
Why do I say (and think) so? It of course starts with them being so lovely gender-bending (in the anime), making Seiya into a gorgeous woman and beautiful bishounen at the very same time. And yes, it is very obvious that he is aware of that, for when we first meet him, he seems to be an obnoxious and big-mouthed youth, fame and wealth seemingly having gotten to his head quite a bit. Mobs of fan-girls swarming all over him and his companions, he seems quite full of himself, and - maybe rightly - makes Usagi furious when she first meets him.
For all his early arrogance, it does not take Seiya long to open up and reveal that he isn’t as superficial as he seemed to be at first glance. We soon get to see, that Seiya has a very gentle and caring side to him, and that he can easily replace his cocky attitude with a very charming one. And I do think, that it’s easy for anyone to see, that his turn of character is being brought on by a certain Odango Atama as well. Though he is mostly drawn to her because of her shine’s cunning similarity with his Princess' at first, his affections for Usagi are soon genuine and true. But, let’s backtrack a bit here.
Kakyuu, the Princess of the planet Kinmoku is the sole reason why we ever get to meet Seiya and his companions in the first place. Galaxia having attacked and destroyed their planet, the Princess decides to flea to Earth (and search for the Light of Hope there), forcing her senshi to follow her to the strange blue planet. His pride heavily strained (by not having been able to defeat Galaxia) and his whole being desperate to find his Princess once more, Seiya now throws his heart and soul into the songs the Three Lights sing to their swarming crowds, soon getting to be Japan’s hottest boyband (that sounds strangely corny -_-;;).
Lead-singer of the Three Lights, Star Fighter is also in the (somewhat) leading position of the Star Lights. With their absolutely sexy outfits and extremely powerful attacks (e.g., in the manga Fighter’s “Star Serious Laser” is stronger than Neptune’s and Uranus’ combined power), they are a senshi sight to behold as well.
At the end of episode 200, they leave the blue planet once more; and that’s that there is of him in the anime and manga. ;_;
