Bloodtype

People with the A blood type are very calm and level-headed. They make plans and keep them. They make an ideal of what they should be, and try to stick to that ideal. They are very firm, reliable, and trustworthy, but they can also be very hard-headed. From a distance, Type A people may seem aloof or withdrawn. They try to suppress their own emotions, giving the impression that they are very strong. However, they do have a fragile and nervous side. They try to avoid confrontation, and feel quite uncomfortable around others. They are very polite, but somehow feel that they never fit in. They are very hard on people who are not of the same blood type. They are perfectionists who crave success, and therefore prefer to do jobs themselves.

First I have to say that the above description seems to fit Manga-Seiya better than Anime Seiya, as she is indeed calm, serious and polite throughout the manga. But the picture of Seiya that we have in our minds is of course also heavily influenced by what the anime tells us. And in the anime, calm and level-headed, nervous and unsocial are characterics you wouldn't necessarily use for Seiya.

On the other hand, I do quite agree with the reliability and trustworthiness mentioned, as Seiya is indeed a very strong and reliable person that really sticks to his promises. Bloodtype-A-people also sound to me as if there is more to them than the eye beholds and witnesses, and that they tend to hide their true emotions and feelings from the world at large; and I feel that that describes Seiya rather nicely as well. Even though he is always cheery, flirty and cocky on the outside, Seiya never really lets on how disturbing and hurtful Kakyuu's disapperance is for him; he never shows us just how desperate he is until very late in the Stars season. He seems to push all the negative feelings troubling him very much away from him, avoiding confrontation with those feelings.
