Alter Ego
"Fighter Star Power, Make Up!"
Now, please insert the Starlights' very cool transformation music, while envisioning them when they shed their cool popstar suits for some of the neatest senshi outfits there are throughout the whole Sailor Moon series. Yes, the Starlights are without a doubt extremely cool Sailor Senshi - and of course Seiya is one of them.
General Info
Along with Sailor Star Maker and Sailor Star Healer, Sailor Star Fighter forms the trio known as the Starlights, a group of Sailor Senshi from outside the Solar System. They come to Earth in search of their Princess Kakyuu, who has fled their home-planet Kinmoku after its destruction by Galaxia, disguising themselves as boys to become popstars and reach their Princess with their songs. Naoko Takeuchi's intent with bringing the Starlights into the story was to show that there are a countless number of Sailor Senshi throughout the galaxy. We therefore cannot really say, if the Starlights are all the senshi there are in the Kinmokusei Kingdom or not.
The Magic
Seiya's henshin phrase is "Fighter Star Power, Make Up!" in the manga as well as in the anime. Whereas (s)he only raises her brooch up into the air in the manga, Seiya says the transformation phrase into a headset microphone that appears on the left side of his head in the anime. But then again, the transformation scenes are (naturally) never as detailed in the manga as they are in the anime.
There are two different transformations for Seiya/Fighter in the anime; the first one rather unspectacularily shows us male Seiya (surrounded by a blue light) turning female as the light surrounding him turns red, upon which she is suddenly in full senshi gear.
The second version of Seiya's transformation - the enhanced one - is more similiar to the other senshi transformations throughout BSSM, with sparkling lights travelling over body parts where the fuku is to be, and, voilą, wanted fuku being there once the light is gone. The enhanced version is by far neater to watch, and, I just have to say it, the Starlights have great bums. ^____^
Sailor Star Fighter's attack in both the anime and manga is: "Star Serious Laser!" Like the other Starlights, Fighter gathers her power for the attack with her Star Yell, throwing the hand clasping it high into the air while shouting the attack phrase. It seems to be a very powerful attack both in the anime and manga. For instance, in the manga Fighter's attack was more powerful than Uranus' and Neptune's combined power (imagine that! @_@), and in the anime the Starlight's attacks proved to be more powerful than the Inner's attacks on several occasions.
In the Material's Collection, it says in Naoko Takeuchi's notes that other attacks of Fighter are: Star Fighter Kick, Star Fighter Punch, Star Fighter Uppercut and Star Fighter Attack. I don't think that any of these attacks are actually used though (in the manga or anime).
Fuku Study
The Starlight's fuku differs from the Sol Senshi's fukus a lot. In fact, the only thing that has completely remained the same is the sailor collar (as without it, it wouldn't really be a Sailor Senshi outfit, would it?). But let's got through Star Fighter's outfit step by step.
The first big difference lies in the material and color of the fuku. The black outfit that looks to be made of leather is actually made from enamel according to the Material's Collection. There are no skirts; instead the Lights get to wear sexy hotpants with a bikini-like top. The two are not connected; this means that they expose their stomach and back instead of having their upper body covered in a bodysuit. They get to wear high-heeled over-knee-length boots and opera-length gloves.
Fighter's "tiara" (if it is one) is golden and studded, with a star in its center. Fighter's choker is a belt type protector according to the Material's Collection and navy blue; two of the same also wrap around both her upper arms. In the middle of her bikini-top is her henshin brooch; it is a shimmering (most likely golden) crystal with a pair of wings attached to its sides.
