Introduction

This humble website is dedicated to the characters Tsukino Usagi and Kou Seiya from the wonderful magical-girl manga/anime series "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon".

BSSM was first published 1992 in Nayakoshi magazine in Japan. Due to its immense success and popularity it was also made into an animated series by TOEI Animations. The manga and anime were produced simultaneously and both ran for about five years, coming to an end in 1997.

The story consists of five story arcs – both in the manga and anime – and tells of your average girl next-door Tsukino Usagi, who finds out she is actually to be the heroine and superhero Sailor Moon. Each season brings not only new friends and senshi along but also new villains she has to face and battle, making her grow and mature with every season. In the last story arc of the series we finally get to meet Kou Seiya, a sailor senshi from a far away galaxy that has come to Earth – disguised as a male – with his companions to search for their Princess that has fled their home planet.

Sailor Moon is a very good series (why else would it have so many fans all over the world?), but the Stars season is definitely one of the best story arcs (according to my opinion, of course). The storyline is gripping, the new characters introduced intriguing, the villain finally one that is to be taken very serious, the character development good; and of course there is this strange relationship inbetween Seiya and Usagi that sparked the interest of many fans. Though Seiya falls in love with Usagi, their relationship never goes past friendship as Usagi already loves someone else. I know that Usagi loved her Mamoru; I know she would never have betrayed him; I know that a relationship between Usagi and Seiya would have been difficult. And yet I still think that they would have made a wonderful couple. That is why this site is dedicated to the two; I not only want to portray these two wonderful characters in all their many facets, I also want to show the world that their interaction was beautiful and very different from the usual interaction and relationships in the series. I do not intend to say here that Seiya and Usagi are meant to be or that Mamoru is an unfeeling jerk, as that is not the truth. All I want is to make a respectable site for these two endearing characters.

Much time has also passed since the original series ended and - the truth has to be said here - the golden days of Sailor Moon have pretty much passed (though there has been a bit of a revival since the Live Action series aired). A few years ago, you would find Sailor Moon websites and fandom left, right and center on the web; now you will mostly stumble upon dead, forgotten, abandoned and “on hiatus” websites.

This is also another reason why I wanted to make this website. It’s been a very long time since I was first introduced to Sailor Moon, and I have indeed discovered many other series since then that are just as amazing. But Sailor Moon will always hold this special place in my heart, as it was the one thing to introduce me to manga and anime and because it was there for the longest time in my childhood. I want to help keeping Sailor Moon alive.
